RESPONSIBILITIES
Proctors selected for the 2026 CBT-WASSCE will undergo mandatory training to ensure they are fully prepared to manage WAEC’s advanced digital examination tools and procedures. Their responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Technical Readiness and System Setup: Proctors will be trained on the operation of WAEC’s computer-based testing platforms, proctoring dashboards, and digital monitoring tools. - Monitoring and Supervision:

They will monitor behavior both physically and through digital surveillance systems, promptly addressing incidents of misconduct, exam malpractice, or suspicious activity. - Handling Examination Software and Tools: As ICT-based examinations rely on specialized software, proctors must be able to navigate the examination interface, guide students where necessary, and troubleshoot minor navigation issues without compromising examination standards.
- Technical Support During the Examination: Proctors will respond swiftly to technical difficulties such as login issues, frozen screens, system errors, or connectivity lapses. They must document such cases accurately and coordinate with technical support teams assigned to each centre.
- Ensuring Examination Integrity:
Maintaining fairness, transparency, and confidentiality is essential. Proctors must adhere strictly to WAEC’s security procedures, report any anomalies, and ensure that no unauthorized materials or digital devices enter the testing environment. - Post-Examination Duties:
This includes ensuring that responses are successfully uploaded, securing examination records, completing incident reports, and shutting down systems according to procedure.
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a teacher currently teaching in public or private school with a verifiable background in instruction or academic administration.
- Must possess proven ICT skills, including the ability to operate computers confidently, use digital tools, and follow technical instructions.
- Must demonstrate a strong ethical orientation, professionalism, and commitment to upholding examination integrity.
- Must have excellent attention to detail, the ability to remain vigilant, and the capacity to manage examination processes calmly and efficiently.

- Modular Trade Certificate
- Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
