The AfDB YPP is a unique, competitive, and fully immersive program aimed at developing the next generation of leaders within the Bank. Successful applicants undergo rigorous professional training, multi-departmental rotations, and exposure to high-level operations across Africa’s leading development finance institution.
The African Development Bank Group is composed of three key entities:
1. The African Development Bank (AfDB) the primary institution responsible for promoting sustainable economic growth and reducing poverty across African countries.
2. The African Development Fund (ADF) which provides concessional funding and grants to low-income member countries to support development projects and programs.
3. The Nigeria Trust Fund (NTF) a special fund established by the Government of Nigeria to support development initiatives in low-income regional member countries under highly concessional terms.
Together, these entities work collectively to drive progress, support infrastructure development, strengthen governance, promote private sector growth, and enhance regional integration.
The Young Professionals Program seeks individuals who are passionate about Africa’s development and possess strong academic qualifications, leadership potential, and a commitment to excellence. Selected candidates will gain hands-on experience in policy analysis, project design, economic research, financial management, and strategic planning.
