Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) is recruiting to fill the position of: Heavy Moving Vehicle Mechanic (HMV Mechanic). The position is located in Cross River, Delta, and Rivers States. Interested candidates should possess an SSCE, Trade Test- I, II, III with 8 years’ experience in the same role. Prior experience working in an automobile company is an added advantage, and the applicant must be 25 – 48 years old.

Job Overview

  • We require the services of qualified HMV Mechanics/Technicians to strengthen its operations and uphold service excellence.
  • The ideal candidates would be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of heavy moving vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, compliance, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnosis & Repair:

  • Diagnose mechanical faults in heavy motor vehicles using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
  • Repair or replace faulty engines, gearboxes, axles, suspension systems, and braking systems
  • Carry out engine overhauls and major mechanical repairs when required

Preventive Maintenance;

  • Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on HMVs
  • Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained according to maintenance schedules

Maintain and repair:

  • Diesel engines and fuel systems
  • Transmission and clutch systems
  • Steering and suspension systems
  • Air and hydraulic braking systems
  • Cooling and lubrication systems

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all repair work complies with safety standards and roadworthiness regulations
  • workshop safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment
  • Maintain clean and safe working conditions.

Requirements

  • Academic Qualification: SSCE, Trade Test- I, II, III
  • Experience: Minimum of 8years’ experience in the same role. Prior experience working in an automobile company is an added advantage.
  • Age Bracket: 25– 48 years.
